Keeping you in the Loop  …. April 2019 update

Make no mistake … the best organised ride in the state is on again next year … March 8th 2020.

The organising team is already hard at work doing more fine tuning since the route change a couple of years ago.

As all the riders who took part this year know, the route is now first class with a similar distance to the original Loop the Lake, but with different, some say more and some say better features which include:

the Fernleigh Track through flat and picturesque bushland,

the Wallarah National Park, a wonderful nature reserve,

the historical and fascinating beachside village of Catherine Hill Bay,

and the Swansea foreshore.

Early-Birders…

Entrants undertaking the ‘serious’ ride on March the 8th next year, will be able to take online advantage of two early-bird opportunities.
If you book from 8th May to 7th of September, registration will cost only $57.  Between 8th September and 7th of December you’ll be able to get a bargain at $67.  From 8th December to Loop on the day in March… registration will still be great value at $77.

Check out what these participants thought about the ride this year.

Lunch and the usual facilities including a free swim at the pool will as always, be at Spears Point Park.

The provision of morning tea and water stops along the way will still be there, and there are now more marshalls than ever to assist, all connected by a wide ranging radio network.

Something different…

A feature you may notice on the ride next year may be the participation of some citizens who may be older than you would expect to see in the Loop event.  Novacare has suggested they may enter one or two ’triobikes’ complete with passengers. In September last year 6 young Danish guys began their long ‘Cycling Without Age’ ride. Setting off from Newcastle’s harbourside they gave free rides on the triobikes before setting off on their first leg to Singleton headed for Melbourne and Hobart. Cycling Without Age’s website has more about the fun they have working with older people … cyclingwithoutage.org.au
